Monica is thrilled to earn the Reaching a New Energy Sciences Workforce (RENEW) grant ($2.25M) from the Department of Energy's Office of Basic Energy Sciences and Office of Electricity on "Broadening Accessibility & Training To Emerging Researchers for Innovative Energy Storage (BATTERIES)". In a 3-year collaboration with San Jose State and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the So Lab will be developing novel graphene-like MOFs for lithium-sulfur batteries towards meeting our electrification needs by 2035. She will be hiring two postdoctoral scholars (1 computational chemist and 1 experimentalist) and 1 project coordinator, so stay tuned!

The So Lab concludes their first summer of remote research! Despite the pandemic, we were able to accelerate discovery of conductive MOF materials via a machine learning collaboration with Lawrence Livermore National Lab! Hooray for progress! We can't wait to start up in-person research in Fall 2020!
